A.J. HARRISON: Singer/Songwriter/Author

January 2, 2018, will mark 49 years as a Recording Artist, for A.J. Harrison. 2018 promises to be a big year for A.J. and his fans. One new Album, two new Novels, a series of children's books and a few local appearances.
A.J. Harrison started singing for live audiences on January 2, 1969. He has written over 400 songs, including their words, music and full arrangement. He sings, plays an Ovation 12-String Guitar, plays limited Midi, and enjoys communicating with his fans. He has won a number of awards for his music and has recorded with many noteworthy studios, such as Mix-O-Lydian Studios, in New Jersey, Airway Studios, in New Jersey, Songbird Studios, in Atlanta, Georgia, Twain Studios, in New Jersey, and Studio 78, in Georgia. A.J. has appeared on numerous television shows and has satisfied concert audiences for decades.

In the 80's, A.J. wrote two songs of defense for then 13 year old AIDS victim, Ryan White. All proceeds went to Ryan and his family to help with medical expenses and everyday living. An unexpected friendship happened. The press and news media labeled A.J., Ryan's "big brother", a label A.J. very proudly wore. Now, 25 years after Ryan's unfortunate death, A.J. is still very touched by the memories of the profound friendship the two shared and has released a book about their friendship and experiences called, "My Life He Did Touch". Ryan died in 1990. The book is available at Amazon, and bookstores all over the world. Go to and click on BUY BOOK to get your copy today!

A.J. is considering a new album, but with the Authoring obligations he has, might need to place that idea on the back burner for a while.

A.J. Harrison was a part of the NBC and CBS Radio Networks for 4 years, Radio DJing. He eventually went back to his music full-time, but has thought about going back into radio several years from now, doing a local late night talk show.

He also tried his hand at acting for a few years, but it didn't work out as he had hoped. He says movies were too time consuming and he had great trouble memorizing lines. He did, however, enjoy doing television and radio commercials, including voice-over work, but found it still took time away from his real passion: Music and Writing Books.

Within the next couple of years, albums will include, a Live Concert Album, and a Tribute to Simon and Garfunkel Album. (Art Garfunkel is A.J.'s Mentor).

A.J. Harrison makes it a habit of reading and answering ALL of his Fan Mail. Feel free to write him at this E-Mail address: Please sign up for his E-Mail mailing list on,

A.J. Lives in Maplesville, Alabama, with his wife of 36 years, Cindy and his younger brother, Joey. A.J. and Cindy have one son, Joshua, (Josh), who lives in Nashville, Tennessee and is a graduate of Vanderbilt University.

Joey Harrison is new in the business, however, he shows an incredible amount of promise. His Big Brother, A.J. Harrison, has NEVER allowed anyone to work with him on the composition of his songs, or books. However, both are looking very forward to this "new adventure" together. They are presently working on two novels, "Shattered Hopes" and "The Broken Little Boy". In addition, they will be writing a series of children's books for a Publisher in the UK. "Keep your eye on Joey", says A.J. "There's going to be a lot of creativity coming from him. I'm sure of it!"
